The Hamburg Ballet has started its eigth tour to Japan during which the company will perform three ballet productions by John Neumeier from the 2nd until the 17th of February: "Lady of the Camellias", "Nijinsky" and "The World of John Neumeier", a ballet gala with narration by the Chief Choreographer of the Hamburg Ballet himself.

Hamburg (HMG). Ever since its grand opening in January 2017, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg has been providing a stage for unforgettable music events. And now, as the new year is here, the concert hall has issued a very special musical New Year's greeting: the “Window Waltz”. As a tongue-in-cheek tribute to Viennese New Year's traditions, four industrial climbers from the façade cleaning team of Hamburg's new landmark are playing the Blue Danube Waltz – from outside the building and with their work equipment. Hamburg (HHT). Redan i januari utsåg New York Times Hamburg till en av "52 Places to Go".

Hamborg (HHT).

The New York Times sounds like a “Hamburg fan” in a recent article of the “36 Hours in …” series, published on October 19, 2017. This comes just as the Lonely Planet travel guide put Hamburg fourth among the “Top 10” cities to visit in 2018. In January, The New York Times ranked Hamburg tenth among “52 Places to Go“ in 2017, and the only German destination on the list.

Autumn is inevitable in the north and the pre-Christmas mood leaves something to be desired. This is the best time to call back a bit of that summer feeling and remember the warm season by the water.  Through its URBAN.SHORE campaign, the German city of Hamburg invites you to visit www.hamburg-tourismus.de/urbanshore to discover its urban coastline, using videos, 360° photographs, and social media.

The Blue Port Hamburg installation designed by the light artist Michael Batz has been attracting international attention since 2008. Blue light once again transforms the Hanseatic city’s night-time port into a magically glowing stage. In 2017 the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and a number of the other buildings in the Northern European City are bathed in mystical blue light until 10 September.

Following a slightly rainy start to the event on Friday, the weather picked up on the second day of the Hamburg Cruise Days 2017 – attracting the usual number of visitors to the Port of Hamburg and making  the Cruise Days again to the cruise industry’s largest public event worldwide. The highlight of the day was the Grand Hamburg Cruise Days Parade – the biggest in the history of the event, even without one of the originally planned six cruise ships …
