Hamburg Cruise Days

From the 8th until the 10th of September 2017 the Hamburg Cruise Days took place. This event was a huge cruise event in Europe combined with the “Seatrade Europe”, one of the leading trade show for the European cruise industry.

Over the past years Hamburg has become a hotspot for the international cruise industry. Last year, about 800.000 guests have visited Hamburg aboard 197 cruise ships arrivals and departures of 26 shipping companies with 42 cruise liners. Every 2 years in September the trade show “Seatrade Europe” will be held and the Cruise Days will follow this event. Many tourist, cruise passengers, locals and business people of the cruise industry will celebrate, communicate, dream and make business in Hamburg in these days. The next Cruise Days will take place from 13th untill 15th of September 2019.

The days are always full of highlights starting with major cruise ships coming to Hamburg on the Cruise Day Weekend. On Saturday evening the cruise liners participate in the great Hamburg Cruise Days Parade escorted by numerous convoying ships. A spectacular firework sends a farewell to the ships and lights up the sky over the harbor. Another highlight is the Blue Port Hamburg by Michael Batz which lights up the whole harbor area in blue lights and might even light up the new Elbphilharmonie.
